Stepping Stones

Post-graduation plans

I’m a soon to be graduate in Graphic and Web Design currently searching for an internship that will help me grow as a designer, build teamwork skills and expand my knowledge. In my previous internship with Linen Chest’s Digital Marketing team, I created newsletter emails, website banners and social media posts for various events and promotions. I would like to intern at a company that will allow me to explore print design or deepen my web design skills.

During this internship, my main goal is to learn from an experienced team, not just about design but also how to communicate effectively, manage projects and meet deadlines.

My goal for this summer is to secure a full-time graphic design position. I also plan on completing a part-time UX Certificate from Concordia University while working when I get an opportunity. This extra qualification will make me a more versatile designer. Taking these courses will allow me to better understand UX and make the right design choices in future projects.

I’m excited to bring my creativity, attention to detail and dedication to any team I join. I’m committed to staying updated on the latest design trends and technologies.

To sum it up, I’m looking for an internship to grow my design skills, gain teamwork experience and learn more about myself as a designer. This internship is a stepping stone towards my long-term goals of a full-time design position and a UX Certificate. I’m eager to embark on this journey and make a positive impact with my design passion.

Final Destination

Steps towards my goal

I’m about to embark on a journey to create my own freelance graphic design business, driven by my passion for branding. It will all start with me discovering my niche and sharpening my graphic design skills. I will also work on building a network of industry contacts on social media platforms. I’ll put together a portfolio to showcase my branding work and take on part-time graphic design projects for friends and family to gain valuable experience.

As I pursue my dream, I will keep my full-time graphic design job for both financial stability and insights into the field, particularly in branding. Continuous learning will remain a top priority, and I’ll set aside funds to navigate any financial challenges. I’ll also ensure that all the necessary legal and administrative aspects are in place while actively building my online presence to attract potential branding clients.

When I’m confident in my abilities, I will make the transition to full-time freelancing in graphic design. I’ll also be open to the possibility of expanding my business with a team. With each step, I will get closer to my goal of running a successful freelance graphic design business that specializes in branding. It will be a journey that will demand dedication and hard work, but I’m thrilled about the creative opportunities that lie ahead.
